2016 Workshop - Faculty of Dentistry, McGill University

NCOHR announces the 4th Annual Canadian Dental Student Workshop - Creating and Sustaining Successful Interdisciplinary Research Teams: A Theory into Practice Approach.  
The workshop will be held on June 16-17, 2016. NCOHR will sponsor two (2) graduate students from each Canadian dental school. If interested in attending, contact Dr. Richard Hovey (richard.hovey@mcgill.ca) and Nicolas Drolet (nicolas.drolet@mcgill.ca).

2015 Workshop - School of Dentistry, University of Toronto

NCOHR's next Canadian dental student workshop, Schmoozing Your Way to a Successful Scientific Career will take place Wednesday afternoon, July 29.

Topics will include mentorship, effective networking, and proper conference etiquette. The workshop will conclude with an “elevator pitch” competition. For more information about this workshop, view the agenda (final) and application form
The Student Trainee Workshop will be followed by a Technology Transfer & Commercialization Workshop from July 30-31.


2014 Workshop - School of Dentistry, University of Alberta

The Network for Canadian Oral Health Research (NCOHR) hosted the second Canadian dental student workshop: Enhancement of Student Involvement in Oral Health Research.  The workshop focused on:
  1. Mechanisms for networking, building collaborations, and team research
  2. Enhancing the student/mentor relationship
  3. Challenges faced by International students
  4. Creating a better presentation
  5. Career opportunities for students in Oral Health research
The workshop was held at the School of Dentistry, University of Alberta on June 16 and 17, 2014. The workshop was open to graduate students and faculty members from each dental school in Canada. NCOHR sponsored the event and provided funding for costs related to travel and hosting.


2013 Workshop - Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University

NCOHR hosted the first Canadian dental research student workshop: Careers in Academic Dentistry. The 2013 event was held on June 10 - 11 at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.  

The workshop was open to graduate students and faculty members from each dental school in Canada.  NCOHR sponsored the event and provided funding for costs related to travel and hosting.
