CATAPULT: Canadian Oral Health Academy Program for Student Virtual Training
CATAPULT is a virtual research academy training program. This free cohort is designed to enhance research-training experience, expose students and faculty members to the latest research developments.
Each cohort will consist of twelve, one-hour virtual sessions and take place during three sessions (Fall, Winter, and Summer).

Short Training Internship Awards: Supporting Research Training
NCOHR sponsors training internships to offer hands-on experience and opportunities to apply knowledge gained from the classroom to a real-world setting. Post-doctoral fellows, doctoral candidates, and master’s students are eligible to apply.
Ten $1,000 Short Training Internship Awards will be offered per year.
The program is being delivered with the support of the Association for Canadian Faculties of Dentistry (ACFD).

Student Research Awards: Mobilizing Knowledge to Advance Oral Health
The CADR-NCOHR student research awards allow trainees to participate in the American/Canadian Association of Dental Research annual meeting and scientific session (held alternate years with the international meeting). Since 2015, CADR and NCOHR have collaborated to jointly sponsor the CADR-NCOHR Student Research Awards.

Student Research Groups: Fostering Talent Development
NCOHR and the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR) support the development of a Student Research Group (SRG) at each of the ten Canadian dental schools.
Annual funds are available ($1,000 per for SRG) to hold activities that showcase excellence in oral health research among undergraduates, graduate, and post-graduate trainees at one of the 10 Canadian dental schools.

Summer Research Institutes: Building Research Capacity
The Summer Research Institute (SRI) program supports a team of researchers and trainees to organize and host a summer institute focused on providing research methodology and skills training to junior and mid-career dental/oral health researchers.
NCOHR is pleased to announce the successful applicant of our 2024 Summer Institute Program. Dr. Hollis Lai, School of Dentistry, University of Alberta will lead the organization and hosting of the Applied AI in Oral Health Summer Institute. See link to announcement.
