BEHSR Webinar: The Careful Use of Causal Inference in Oral Health Research Using Epidemiological Data This webinar is intended to provide an overview of the importance of causal inference in epidemiological studies, the approach to establishing causality in oral health studies, best practices and examples of causal inference analysis in oral health research. In this webinar, we will have a keynote presentation followed by a Q&A session. PxP 2024 Conference (For Patients, By Patients): Virtual The 2024 PxP (For Patients, By Patients) conference, will be September 10-12 (for those in Europe, Africa or North and South America), or 11-13 (Asia and Oceania). Our purpose is to share resources, mentorship and community with patient partners and others involved in health research. Ultimately, our goal is partnering to make research stronger.

The CIHR Project Grant Priority Announcements are intended to offer additional funding support for applications that are relevant to specific CIHR research areas. As part of the Priority Announcement, CIHR-IMHA will provide funding for applications relevant to our general mandate. The total funding available is $300,000, with a maximum of $100,000 per annum for up to one year awarded for a single grant. Anticipated Timeline Registration Deadline: 2024-08-14 Application deadline: 2024-09-11 Notice of Decision: 2025-01-29 Funding Start Date: 2025-04-01

The summer school aims to combine the art of comics and science communication to create innovative and engaging educational tools. Participants will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals in the fields of comics and scientific communication. • Open to students, researchers, educators, and science communication professionals • Strong interest in comics and science communication • Commitment to actively participate in both in-person and virtual activities • Submission of works in spring 2025 for exhibition at the RiSBOd Scientific Day and McGill University 2025, as well as the Quebec International Dental Days Deadline for applications: Sept 6 2024. 103rd General Session & Exhibition of the IADR

The Applied AI in Oral Health Summer Institute is returning on July 11 and 12, 2025, to the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta. This event is designed for researchers, clinicians and students, and no prior AI experience is required. You'll receive hands-on training in applying AI and coding techniques to solve challenges in research to discover how to turn data into intelligence.
